Waterproof MP3 players and headphones have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Previously, these devices could not be used underwater because technology was not advanced enough to create waterproof versions of the bulkier, traditional models.
With current advancements in technology, swimmers are now able to enjoy their favorite music while underwater. While there are not as many choices for underwater MP3 players as there are for traditional models, one can certainly be found to fit almost any lifestyle and budget. When someone has decided to obtain an underwater MP3 player, there are several things he or she must take into consideration.
One of the first things to think over is one's preference of audio format. Older waterproof models featured mini headphones that worked sufficiently, but were sometimes subject to leaks which could result in a muffled sound. Newer models send the audio through the ear and jawbone, and do not require anything to be inserted in the ear. These models are a bit more costly, but many individuals find they are worth it.
Other considerations include the size and weight of the model chosen, as well as the length of its cord. Some of the bulkier models are no longer being manufactured, however, each swimmer has his or her own idea about what constitutes an acceptable size. In order to swim with ease, a model should be selected that does not have lengthy cords. Format compatibility is also important as one will want to be able to download his or her choice of music whenever necessary.
