Screen Printing

Screen printing is the oldest method of transferring a design onto a piece of clothing, a poster, a billboard, or a flyer. It originated in China and has been around for over two thousand years. When used for T-shirt printing, the paint is placed directly on the screen and the design is pressed against the T-shirt.

This method is quick, cost effective, and it produces high-quality prints. The disadvantages are that each color needs a separate screen, so it's not nearly as fast when printing multi-color T-shirts. Screen printing is also quite messy and it takes a lot of time to clean printing screens at the end of the day.

Heat Press

The heat press method was ubiquitous in the 1970s when most kids were running around in T-shirts with a heat press patch. The method now relies on computers instead of patches to print out a special piece of paper with transparent ink that can then be transferred to the T-shirt using heat. It's sort of like a stick-on tattoo, but instead of using water it relies on heat and steam

The advantages of this T-shirt printing method are that it is better with multiple colors and that it can be used to produce more intricate designs. The disadvantages are that it is more expensive than screen printing, the patch can feel heavy, and that the colors will fade and crack over time.

Which is better?

Well, it really does depend on the size of your business and the kind of shirts you are planning on printing. If the design is basic, monochromatic, and you need a lot of them, there is no doubt that screen printing is the T-shirt printing method you should choose. However, if you have a multi-colored design that is intricate and you are fulfilling small order, heat press might be a better fit.

When it comes to a special occasion such as a hen night though you want to know that you get the right slogan for you. Some people opt for having a t-shirt that just says 'hen night' while others will either have something raunchy or something that makes people smile when they see it. However, instead of the groom's friends throwing a party for him to celebrate his upcoming nuptials it would usually be the groom who hosted a dinner and would then present his guests with a gift also.

The phrase 'hen night' is derived from the animals that the party participants are thought to be most like. Women are always depicted as talkative and therefore they get hen whilst men are always considered 'macho' on these occasions so they are depicted as stags.

It is thought that until the 1960s when women were starting to get more of a hold on a dominant male society that this is when these kinds of parties began. Before the 1960s bachelorette parties were not that common at all. It wasn't until 1980, however that bachelorette parties became more popular and the first book that detailed specifics on how to plan a bachelorette party was not published until 1998. It seems hard to believe that this was just 12 years ago.

A hen party does not have to be the usual pub-run that a lot of people choose and can be anything from a formal dinner party usually organised by the bride's mother or mother-in-law-to-be to a bridal shower which would usually take place before the hen night which would give the bridesmaids the opportunity to shower the bride with gifts hence the name which in turn would give the bride two parties.

Seeing women wearing a t-shirt on their special night always makes people smile as they know that these women are out to have a good time and quite often people will join in with their party spirit. A very good slogan would probably be something like 'kiss me quick before it's too late'. This slogan would most certainly get people talking and perhaps some men even trying to get their kiss.
